Motorola Edge 20 Lite Review

It also integrated a fast charge of 30 watts into this mobile. Yes, it is appreciated since most of their smartphones stay at 20 watts. However, it is still not enough. And is that the Edge 20 Lite requires about 90 minutes for its battery to go from 15 to 100 percent of its capacity.

Other phones in the mid-range integrate higher fast charges, so they only need about 40 minutes to have their phones at 100 percent.

Another point favour of the Motorola Edge 20 Lite is its large display. It is a 6.7-inch OLED screen with Full HD + resolution, compatible with HDR10 + and with a maximum refresh rate of 90 Hz (it updates its image 90 times in a second).

All these features translate into an exciting cell phone for consuming streaming content and online videos, from HBO Max to YouTube.

The fact that the Edge 20 series integrates OLED technology instead of LCD means having a higher level of detail and more vivid colours on the screen, as well as a brightness that does not require to be used at its maximum point. In contrast, intense blacks are also noticeable.

Playing your favourite series and even a movie on this new member of the Motorola family, presented in July 2021, translates into a viewing experience that is rarely experienced on a smartphone in its price range: 8,500 pesos for the Mexican market (about 425 dollars at the current exchange rate).

There’s no stereo sound on the phone. Only one channel is included, but the audio is loud and clear enough for those times when headphones aren’t needed.

As an additional detail, the screen is interrupted by a circular notch in the center, which houses the 32 MP selfie camera.

The Motorola Edge 20 Lite is available in gray and green, colours that make the unit look elegant. On the back of the equipment, the module that houses the central optics immediately stands out, which is made up of a 108 MP primary sensor, an 8 MP wide-angle sensor (with macro camera functions) and a 2 MP depth sensor.

By the way, the optical assembly offers good results when the lighting is optimal; however, in some photographs, the colours may look a bit artificial due to the intervention of artificial intelligence.

In more of the design, on the right side, there are the buttons to raise or lower the volume, and the power button, which includes the fingerprint sensor to unlock the cell phone (it responds quickly, although not all users are in favour of its incorporation in this button).

On the right side, Motorola decided to put the button that allows you to activate the Google Assistant, which can also be activated with a simple gesture when the cell phone is unlocked.

At the base, in addition to the USB-C charging port, there is the audio channel and the 3.5 mm headphone jack. Although a pair of headphones is not included, what does come in the purchase box is a cover for the device (for the taste of the person who writes these lines, this accessory takes away from the cell phone’s elegance, so there will be some who will decide don’t get hold of it).
Overall user experience

Motorola usually puts small details or functions on its phones that do not hinder people’s experience, as with the Edge 20 Lite.

In addition to the fact that they will find a mobile with pure Android (version 11), they can use a wide variety of gestures to, for example, turn on the flash as a flashlight or activate the camera without having to turn on the phone.

The manufacturer calls an interactive screen, where it is possible to have more information from incoming notifications without unlocking the phone. It is also an attractive feature that Motorola has implemented for a long time.

On this occasion, it was not possible to test Ready For PC. This new feature allows you to replicate the phone’s interface on a computer since the corresponding application is currently compatible with Windows 10 machines.

With all that, Motorola’s work cannot be ignored to present an Android device that feels balanced, without excessive interventions, but without stopping putting its stamp on it as a manufacturer of smartphones.

The Motorola Edge 20 Lite does not integrate a Snapdragon processor like its brothers: it comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 720 chip and 6 GB of RAM. These elements make the phone responsive for various tasks, whether running apps or navigating its multiple features.

It has already been proven that mobile phones with Dimensity 5G series processors, besides being compatible with the fifth generation of mobile phone technologies, offer outstanding performance, evident in aspects ranging from multimedia to connectivity.

Regarding storage, it is equipped with 128 GB expandable up to 512 via a microSD card. It is a space that can be considered sufficient, especially to always have the favourite apps and videos and photos generated with the same device.
