Oppo Find X3 Lite Review

Oppo has several major rivals in high-end and mid-range markets, but the Chinese manufacturer doesn’t hesitate to take on them. In recent months, Oppo has renewed several of its families of phones, such as the Find X with the Oppo Find X3 Pro and its little brother but not inconsiderable Oppo Find X3 Lite. This device has a fantastic screen, a camera with a good level for its price, and 5G connectivity.

Power and autonomy

Oppo incorporates the Snapdragon 765G processor into this phone, a chipset that provides 5G connectivity and gives it more than enough power to carry out all kinds of actions. And it is that the Oppo Find X3 Lite responds well in daily use; it does not present problems of lags or jerks, not even when running high-demand video games. Also, nothing overheats, even after a long gaming session.

As for the battery, the device has 4,300 mAh with a 65-watt SuperVOOC fast charging system. With the charger -included in the box-, the time to complete a full charge was just 45 minutes. With extensive use and the screen at 90 Hz, the battery could perform almost 18 hours without needing to be powered. With the net at 60 Hz, I finished the day without having to charge the phone.

The device operates with ColorOS 11.1 on top of Android 11, a customization layer that, unlike other manufacturers, improves and balances the experience with the phone. It is a clean interface without bloatware, which does not negatively interfere with the phone’s performance.

cameras

The Oppo Find X3 Lite has a rear camera made up of a 64 MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture, an 8 MP (f/2.2) super wide-angle lens, a 2 MP (f/2.4) sensor with monochrome, and one more than 2 MP (f / 2.4) macro with focus at 4 centimeters. Its front camera is 32 MP with an f/2.4 aperture.

In good light, the Oppo Find X3 Lite offers photos with bright and very vivid colors, although it tends to saturate some tones (icy ones, such as blue or violet). The level of sharpness is very high and with a significant amount of detail, while the focus is swift. The dynamic range is very balanced, so we can obtain high-quality images without using the HDR mode.

In night photos, the appearance of noise is inevitable, as well as the loss of sharpness in the profiles, although the colors hold up quite well. Light sources dissipate pretty, but that was expected for a phone in its range. The macro mode is, in my opinion, its weak point, as it requires us to place the lens four centimeters away and both the colors and the level of sharpness leave much to be desired.

Portrait mode also has some notable shortcomings. On the one hand, the blurring is sometimes a bit erratic; on the other hand, although the level of sharpness is good, the colors are very saturated compared to the normal mode. In the case of selfies, if we take them in portrait mode, we find the same error in blurring as the rear camera; with normal mode, the colors are also quite saturated, and the images are slightly overlit.

My experience with this phone has been excellent, especially considering its price is 399 euros. The device more than meets most of the critical points of a phone: it has unbeatable performance, 5G connectivity, and a high-quality screen. In addition, its design makes it a comfortable phone in hand, resistant and clean. We must not overlook its excellent autonomy and fast charging system.

Design and display

This device is similar to other models from Oppo and the competition, but I love its back. And it is that this, despite being made of glass, has a rough finish that facilitates grip and does not get dirty; at the same time, it is beautiful and striking.

It is a phone with a 6.44-inch AMOLED screen, very comfortable in hand, and only weighs 172 grams. The screen has a refresh rate of 90 Hz to play smoothly without the battery suffering. Also, the maximum brightness level is more than enough.

Its fingerprint sensor is under the screen and works quickly and accurately, although I used facial recognition daily, which also reacts quite well. The maximum brightness is 750 nits, which is necessary to use the phone in all situations without problem, even with direct sunlight on the screen. It is also IP52 certified against splashes.

It is a phone that generally leaves me with excellent feelings; It is balanced and robust and has a lovely design.
