Amazfit Verge Lite has interchangeable and easily customizable spheres from the application itself. Or else, from the smartwatch, you have to press the screen so that the different spheres that are preconfigured will appear. However, they can also be created by following these tutorials, or you can download them from external sites.
In this way, we can customize the sphere to give it a personal touch at all times.
Applications
When you turn it on for the first time, it may need to be updated with the latest firewall version. For this, it will be necessary to link it with one of the official applications of the application. In this case, we have the “Mi Fit” app, which is the one used with the Xiaomi Mi Band, or the specific Amazfit application from Google Play or the App Store.
Next, I leave you a small tutorial with the specific functions of each application:
XIAOMI MIFIT App
My Fit
This application is simple and intuitive but does not provide all the functionalities that this device offers (such as GPS route).
To configure it, you have to turn on Bluetooth, open the application, and at the top in the “+” or in “Profile,” and by clicking on “Add device,” select the watch to add. After a few minutes of updates, we will have the application configured.
Amazon
This is the official application of the brand, and, as we have mentioned, it is available for Android and iOS.
As soon as the application is installed, we only have to register with an email or the Google, Facebook, Line, WeeChat, or Xiaomi account and include our physical data such as height, weight, and age in the Amazfit report. Later we must select the device we want to link, which will perform a synchronization process. The application is very similar to the previous one but provides a little more information.
Power and Hardware
In this section, there is not much to say because I have not been able to know at what speed this Amazfit Verge Lite works or how much RAM it has, although I do not think that the characteristics are very different from those of the standard version. (According to rumors, it has a 1.2Ghz Dual Core chip and 512Mb of RAM).
Day-to-day performance is good, with a very responsive touch screen. The changes between screens and activities are fast, as is the physical button. The only thing I didn’t like was the screen unlock time, which is relatively slow when you raise your hand and open it by pressing the button.
Software
To use this Amazfit Verge Lite, it is necessary to have a device with a minimum Android version of 4.4 Kitkat or an iOS terminal with a performance equal to or greater than 9.0.
This watch comes in Chinese and English; even choosing the language in the application, I have not been able to put it in Spanish. Even so, it is easily understandable, thanks to the menu icons.
The operating system is easy, simple, and intuitive, similar to other watches or identical to the gestures we can use on Xiaomi phones. Pressing or turning the wrist (as long as we have it configured for this) unlocks the screen. Unlocking takes a second, and you can set the sensitivity of the wrist twist.
If we slide down (as happens on mobile devices), we find the shortcuts to the phone settings: brightness, night mode, energy saving mode, lock mode, and the flashlight (which lights up the screen).
Principal functions
If we slide up, we find the main menu with the options:
- In the first place, we have the State that informs us of the steps, kilometers and calories burned that we have taken.
- On the other hand, we also have a heart rate meter to perform a test at any time. (It can be set to be done automatically by the watch.)
- In the third icon, we have the Training section where you can add the sport you are going to do, and you can add some goals to be notified.
- In Activity, we have quick access to our workouts.
- Next, we have the Time indicator. It allows us to see the weather forecast for the city we have configured and the forecast for the following four days.
- Then we have the Music section that allows us to control the songs being played on the device easily.
- Later we have the Notifications menu where we can see the notifications that reach us on the device. (I don’t think this function helps read WhatsApp, but to get an idea of who is speaking to us or what is happening on our mobile device).
- Next, we have the Alarms options to set alarms that will make our clock vibrate. (They don’t play on the phone.)
- On the other hand, the Event Reminder option can be added to the phone application.
- Coming to an end, we have the More option in which we have the functions of looking for the phone, stopwatch, and countdown.
- And to finish, we have the General Options that allow us to see the characteristics of the clock or configure some aspects.
